I can’t even phrase that sort of happiness and excitement that designer collaborations give me. This joint creativity the fashion world tends to embrace nowadays is one of the issues this business keeps running so successfully. The ability to work with different people always at least doubles the creativity and as does the efficiency. Scroll down to see what are the two collaborations we are adoring right now at SILKsofine. Can you guess? A little aid: both of them involves singers.
Beyoncé x Topshop:
Breaking news, guys! Beyoncé is launching an activewear label with Topshop, which will include “clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports categories”. The singer has created a 50-50 partnership with the British retailer, listed as Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd, to produce an athletic streetwear brand. – reported Vogue. Although this is not really a conventional collaboration but rather a partnership the brand is scheduled to launch in autumn 2015. Beyoncé said: “I have always loved Topshop for their fashion credentials and forward thinking. Working with their development team to create and produce a technical and fashion led collection is exciting and I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.” As I’ve said, the collection will encompass clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports – and let’s be honest, if someone, Beyoncé for sure knows what we need in the gym. Can’t wait, but until then watch her wearing sportswear for the Pretty Hurts video!
Pharrell Williams x Adidas Originals – Equality is Love
Pharrell is back with a very suitable and not at all surprising collaboration, cause and video. It’s rather refreshing to see Williams and Adidas work together to promote social awareness, which is a very current issue in the world – always have been and always will. As we’d just expect from the guy who brought us the multi-ethnic, super-positive and most of all happy “Happy” video, this campaign for Adidas is full of hope and zest. With the tags like “Equality is Acceptance”, “Equality is Love” and “Equality is Strength”, the campaign features colorfully bold and striking photos shot by talented photographer Ryan McGinley. When the musician slash entrepreneur singer announced a long-term partnership with Adidas back in March, we all knew that it’s more than just a seasonal collection. He has already been part of projects like the ADIDAS x LUISAVIAROMA charity project for instance and here we go again, the Adidas-Pharrell combination is unstoppable. The full collection arrived in stores and online at adidas.com on October the 31st, so hurry and have a happy shopping!
