Since I have learned about photography from this book I feel I have got wings. I am totally inspired to make (anything) and take (photo of it), so this time I am glad to show you what I made of Chia seeds today. Warning: the food below is fast to make, needs only a few ingredients, very healthy and delicious.
I have discovered Chia not that long time ago, although my health conscious gastro friends are using it for a long time. But as now Chia seeds are all over the supermarkets I couldn’t not finally check out what this popular seed is about. As it turned out Chia seeds are filled with Omega-3, antioxidants and calcium, meaning Chia seeds are extremely healthy. And the best thing is that it is ridiculously easy to make food out of them. Before I get myself to start to bake (which I barely do) I decided to make a Chia seed pudding first. I have read like a million ways of making pudding out of Chia. So many recipes that this one I just put myself together and it turned out absolutely tasty.
240 ml almond milk
60 ml chia seeds
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons sweeteners (I used maple syrup but agave works wonderfully as well)
1 banana (or half if you want less intense banana taste)
Blueberry, raspberry or practically any kind of berry you like. I also added a little of Goji Berry – Mulberry Mix.
Combine almond milk, chia seeds, vanilla extract, your sweetener of choice and the banana together and let the Chia seeds soak for minimum an hour. For best result you can leave the mixture in the fridge over night, but after only 1 hour the pudding reaches the aimed yogurt-like texture as well. After 1 hour blend the ingredients together in a blender – if too thick just add some more almond milk. After blending stir in berries and nuts and your Chia seeds pudding is ready to be served.
