You already know that I am on my way to develop a healthy lifestyle through a healthy eating routine and although I am not always the most consequent person, I am trying to keep things smooth when it comes to wellness and a healthy mind. So I am always happy to get advices or learn from people I adore for their conscious way of living. And here we go, known for her lean body and health-conscious lifestyle, Cameron Diaz published two very interesting books about health and ageing – both books are more than relevant for every women who cares. Now let me tell you a little about the reviews I have found about these books.
1. The body book
Diaz’s first publication is her long-term guide book about the “law of hunger, the science of strength, the power of knowledge, and other ways to love your amazing body” and I guess this book has already got me at this point.
Throughout her career Cameron Diaz has been a role model for millions of women and now she is sharing the ultimate and honest way towards a beautiful life that starts with respect, self-recognition and endurance – the ingredients for a healthy mind. The publisher, HarperCollins says: “The Body Book does not set goals to reach in seven days, thirty days or a year. It offers a holistic, long-term approach to make consistent choices and reach the ultimate goal: a long, strong, happy, healthy life.”
The actress has set herself high standards and did not settle for only publishing a book but took as well actions and promoted her beliefs by visiting high schools and gave lectures. One thing is sure: this book is not about a new diet fad, nor a 10-days-magic-workout, more like about Diaz’s own journey that has helped her to realise what is important in life.

2. The longevity book
The second publication of the actress is more relevant for me than ever. I have just turned 40 last year and although age has never meant much to me, this time some things have changed. I am not taking 40 so easy as I have thought so before, yet I am not taking it too serious either. Still, there are certain things I need to come clear with, about myself, with myself. And I am expecting this book by elaborating on “the science of ageing, the biology of strength, and the privilege of time” helping me a little.
In this book Cameron Diaz expresses herself freely and genuinely about ageing, white hair and wrinkles, fertility and menopause, you name it – there are no taboos. She has collected facts about the ageing process of a female body and she adds her own personal notes to it.
In my opinion after 30 you might realise a few changes about ways your body is working but you do not give much about it. After 40 you are perfectly conscious about that something is going on and you want to, but might not know how to deal with it. And here comes this book to clarify a lot of things scientifically and also from the personal point of you of a girl in her 40’s. This is exactly what we all need sometimes, do you agree? Especially when it comes to something we do not talk about every single day. A little push is golden from someone who we do not know but feels we are friends with.. or at least neighbours. 🙂

I think both books sound extremely promising so as I am going for a rather long vacation very soon, I decided to have both books with me. Can not wait to read them. Expect two personal book reviews very soon. xx
