For some reason I feel like it is easier to be stylish at summer. You do not have to take care of practicalities like “I-hate-to-be-cold”, so you just wear whatever you feel like wearing. But at fall/winter you have to take care of more aspects of dressing well: you do not want to freeze and you want to look good. Here come my five inspirations for staying stylish in the cold.
1. Over the Knee boots
I think there is no real fashion conscious wardrobe without a pair of over the knee boots. They are probably the most practical footwear ever. You can wear them already at milder times without stockings and when the real cold hits they are the ultimate wear with mini skirts. I prefer the stocking-like version, like this one from Robert Clergerier.
2. Suede Biker Jacket
Biker jackets are also must haves for some seasons already, but now, when suede took over practically everything in clothing production, we have the biker jackets in suede version as well. And how great is that 😉 ! Earth-like colours are the most popular, like this pretty camel suede biker.
3. Furry Shoes
This is really a special piece and I think only those brave fashionistas are up to a footwear like Gucci’s furry slides. I really adore the idea to have slides without socks out there. And gucci went even further with their furry concept, they made this pretty sling back which (strangely) I find absolutely pretty.
4. Oversized Vest
The ultimate autumn/winter piece! Wear it over practically anything, even over coats or jackets when you can’t bare the cold. This style on the picture has almost every trending element: it’s suede, fringed and the colour is purple/deep lilac which is currently getting high on the top colours list. If you want to tone it down go for something like this Etro vest, which is currently my favourite.
5. Bomber Jacket
The comeback is more than welcomed by a lot of celebrities already (Rihanna was one of the first ones wearing an oversized, military green bomber) and makes its’ round in the world of street style steadily. I love the traditional version, with light orange colour inside, with a twist, like this cropped version by 3.1 Phillip Lim.
