Pre- and inter-collections – like cruise or resort if you like – hit the shops and online stores before the main Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer seasons, just like it happened in November. Have you guys seen the kind of mighty damage Dolna did to her credit card lately? Yes…I’m talking about those gorgeous Chanel espadrilles…Also referred to as holiday or travel collections, resort collections aim those jet-setters whom are always up for a mediterranean getaway or just can’t stop thinking about warmer times even for a sec. Let’s stumble upon our favourite pieces.
Luckily, more and more designer started to feel the heat and yet creating cruise collections. High fashion houses like Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, and Ralph Lauren are offering cruise/resort collections ever since, but we have a few more ideas according whom to keep an eye on. Next season you should not ignore names like TIBI, Stella McCartney or Proenza Schouler. As for the latter, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough are the creative team behind this playful resort collection of Proenza Schouler, featuring tweed-effect knits, diagonal stripes and pretty pleats. The pieces are the perfect balance of the transitory shift of from-colder-to-warmer days and nights.
TIBI‘s resort 2015 collection reminds me of how nonchalant and cool one can be at the very same time. The ease of matching your slippers with a blush pink trench or super chic mint culottes are the issues that make us crave some warmer degrees ahead. Designer Amy Smilovic fully understood the needs of TIBI’s customers: contemporary edge with some kind of laid-back effortlessness is what they (we) want. So we got it. With this recent delivery of easy yet stylish dressing with exquisite details here and there made up the Resort ’15 lineup yet its way straight to our hearts and soon to our wardrobes.
Stella McCartney has definitely taken far the funniest approach in terms of prints for her Resort 2015 collection. “They’re the Stella Superheroes!” said Stella McCartney to Vogue about the colourful prints and embroideries. “We always like to have some humor in the collection. They’re our superheroes for superwomen.” Stella is indeed a superwoman, so she obviously wants us to be one too. And how? Through empowerment, as the main theme of her collection, yet balancing on the edge of feminine and sporty with a hint of humour attached. Love them, right? If you are dreaming of 2015’s in-between season’s chic styles, shop our current picks and forget that it’s freezing cold outside for a second.
