One of the best ways to clean the way too long northern-greyness out of our system is to sit on a 2,5 hour airplane ride to Southern Europe, and just let the sunshine do the work. Intense four days on Ibiza are like a complete winter-detox, especially when you spend your time with positive people. What to do or where to go: my short story of a wonderful long-weekend on Ibiza.
A dear friend of mine is a happy owner of a house on this sparkling island and she had the best idea: lets make a girls’ weekend at the beginning of July. We booked our tickets and the countdown has started. 5 girls were impatiently waiting to have fun in the sun. After arrival we all have instantly taken a deep breath into the hot Spanish air and started to believe that winter doesn’t have to last the whole year – no offence North-Germany but it was way too long this year. With record-speed we have got rid of our luggages at the house of my friend and were on our way to the beach. Yes, BEACH!! Sun, sand, sea!
When it comes to Ibiza, most of the people associate to beach-clubs and never-ending parties (sex, drugs and rock&roll) but I think Ibiza is about what you want it to be about. You can have it all here: bum-bum or chill, you decide. We voted for a balanced middle way and enjoyed our stay on relaxed beaches like Amante Beach Club with the most breathtaking view, at highly entertaining shows on the top of one of Ibiza’s highest buildings, Hard Rock Hotel, shopping in the old-town and partying at one of Ibiza’s most glamorous club-restaurant-cabaret, Lio. In nutshell my recommendations:
Amante Beach Club (Sol D’en Serra bay): three levels of pleasure 1. beach 2. sun-beds 3. restaurant. Prepare for a lot of seaweed on the beach and deep water.
Es Moli de Sal (Playa de Illetas, Formentera): a place where you have to go by boat, but worth every penny of it. Serious foodgasm with the best lobster and home made ice cream you will never forget!
Jockey Club (Salinas): young and fresh with the best Sangria. Prepare for louder music and a lot of locals on the weekend. Be early for your sun-bed.
Coco Beach (Playa d’en Bossa): true Ibiza sparkle! Entertainment during the day, superb service on the beach and delicious cuisine. Reservation to the restaurant highly recommended.
Beachouse (Playa d’en Bossa): relaxed ambience, delicious food, with or without children.
Lio: Classic show/cabaret entertaining, after 10 pm the music is louder and the clothes are less on the artists. Simply grandiose.
Heart: Absolutely stunning ambience and Cirque du Soleil is entertaining the whole night. Do I have to say more?
Pacha: I heard there are tourist offices who are organising trips only for the Pacha-experience. You have a ticket to Ibiza, an entrance to Pacha and a ticket back home next morning. Hardcore clubbing with 5 different music styles.
Beside of my recommendations I am sure you find several more great places to be. Enjoy and see you there cause Ibiza is always a good idea!
