When Lena Dunham is not starring in Girls (or produces movies, writes books and screens) then she hits the gym! But not exactly for the (only) reason one might think. Her message is nothing new, still a very impressive reminder to all of us, who struggles with anxiety or such a kind..
Lena Dunham is a star (btw this is a great interview with her), so the first thought could be that she must look good for the sake of her profession. However she makes it clear that her reason to keep moving that super feminine body is not only keeping physically healthy.
“Promised myself I would not let exercise be the first thing to go by the wayside when I got busy with Girls Season 5 and here is why: it has helped with my anxiety in ways I never dreamed possible. To those struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression: I know it’s mad annoying when people tell you to exercise, and it took me about 16 medicated years to listen. I’m glad I did. It ain’t about the ass, it’s about the brain. Thank you @tracyandersonmethod for showing me the light (and @bandierfit is where I bought my Florida mom inspired workout look.) #notsponsored #stillmedicated“
I am a typical on and off trainer. I take my part in keeping my nutrition healthy (for example with these heavenly good smoothies) but I seriously have to push myself a lot to at least try to do efforts for fitting into my prettiest summer dresses. Or for being able to go to the beach without constantly covering myself up (although I think I would never give this habit completely up, cause there are way too many beautiful beach coverups, especially here). Anyway. My point is that this girl, called Lena Dunham, has given me a push to start again, after a few months doing nada. Straight away I am going to check out what Marc Nielsen from Never Quit told us to get that bikini body prepared, and I am pulling out my prettiest sport kit to hit the gym. For my brain. And a little bit for my ass. x
