The peplum top trend was somehow always out of my radar, because voluminous shapes are not exactly ideal for those with curvier hips. But this style of peplum top is cut in a way that everyone can enjoy wearing it.
What I wear:
Well I am definitely not a Kim Kardashian who can embrace those curves so amazingly. I have a lot to learn in this issue. But I am slowly opening my mind and trying to wear styles that were foreign for me before, like a peplum top or polka dots (coming next!).
My upper body is much skinnier than the bottom and that is giving me sometimes real challenges. I rarely wear skinny jeans but when I do, then I am most likely pairing it with high heels. I really need that boost, high heels optically add to lengthen legs. This way my hips don’t look so curvy. But with this peplum top I didn’t use high heels, cause the top is long enough to cover the area I don’t like to show.
An other reason why this peplum top works for me is that the top part of the blouse has a relaxed cut. It doesn’t highlight my skinny upper body and the voluminous bottom part hides those curvy hips. So I just went for some comfy sandals (my very favourites of the season!!!) to get an optically balanced look. What do you think how did I do?
