While following up the latest trends I have found a lot of faux leather and faux fur designed by big names like Lanvin or Saint Laurent. This seems like the first signs of return of the 90’s spirit when all the buzz was about nylon and faux leather. I never owned faux leather before but now I found a pair of perfect cut, deep brown/bordeaux pants and I decided to test their wearability. So far so good!
The first thing I have realised that these pants are extremely light. It is a kind of weird feeling, cause in my opinion these pants look like real leather pants, but when you touch and wear them, you get confused. Very light and breezy, thanks to the wide cut, but here is one thing: despite of the very thin fabric these pants are warm, so it is really advised to wear them only in chilled weather. I think this might be the only disturbing fact about faux leather: the fabric doesn’t breath. I find these pants perfect, especially looking at the price tag, but if I would invest into an other faux leather anything from a big label, it would definitely not be pants. Except if they are so wide cut like these here. Anything that allows your body to get some air due to the cut is good, but nothing tight, nothing narrow, at least not for me. But with these pants I am very happy and will wear them for sure. It fits good to the upcoming season, the colour is absolutely “in” and one of my favourite wear, chunky knit jumpers fit perfect. I especially like this silver coated version from Stella McCartney.
What do you think about faux leather or faux fur? I would love to hear your opinion! xx
