Summer Trend 2014: Dress Up & Dress Down

Tracdelight and InStyle announced a contest to present “personal summer trend 2014” and this opportunity made me finally do something I plan to do for a very long time: streetstyle on Being the very first in the line, this photo-shooting was overexciting (and full of questions and blushes) and of course filled with actions/settings/lot-of-things I would rethink for the next time. But for now let me show you the outcome and how I styled one of my favourite pair of wedge sandals work two ways: dressed up and dressed down.

I like to invest into timeless pieces but when I saw these pair of leather wedges I couldn’t say no. There were three reasons: the look, the touch and the feel. The dark nude tone optically lengthens the legs and goes practically with every other colour. These wedges are made of butter-soft leather which word by word hugs your feet, like the finest gloves (the name of the wedges is Glove, no coincidence). For first sight I was afraid of the 10 cm heels (without platform) but after trying them on I was convinced about their wearability. For those who prefer flats or smaller heels it still might be a bit too high however for support there is the wedge to provide a very stable walking platform. These sandals work wonderfully for dressing up, giving an extra coolness to a sophisticated dress – which in my case was my wedding dress as well ❤︎, only with an other pair of shoes for that occasion. At the same time these wedges lift your dressed down style when you are making rounds in the city or go to watch the football world-cup at your friends terrace (go Germany!!!). For an effortless look I paired them with all boyfriend style: boyfriend jeans and oversized t-shirt – you might just borrow them from him. In order to avoid the oversized style hanging on me, both jeans and t-shirt I had folded up. It also makes the look more feminine. All the accessories are easily variable: for elegance I chose cat-eye glasses and for coolness I went for Fendi’s amazing retro mirrored frames. And the clutches… oh well, I am in love with fringes this summer.
