A lot of people think of a travel to Ibiza as guarantee for sex, drugs &
rock n’ roll non-stop party, but for me the island means today something completely different. I visit Ibiza quite regularly, most of the times with my family, and our travels are not (only) about wild nights but great food, relax and endless inspirations. Last time I wrote about a weekend without kids, this time it is about Ibiza with children.
One of the reasons I like to travel to Ibiza is the sunny weather which is so precious when you live up in the north. Ibiza is only 2,5 hours flight away from my North-German home and most of the time direct flights are available. People usually mark Ibiza as “only” a party place but since my little girl joins me in my travels I have discovered a totally different face of the island. A lot of families travel to Ibiza because of the fast availability from Europe and also because there is always place for children on the island. The beach clubs might be sometimes a little loud with their obligatory party music, but most of the beaches offer childcare, there are a lot of playgrounds (you don’t really need them cause you are anyway on the beach the whole day) and there are several shops for kids, from clothes to toys.
An other reason to love Ibiza is of course the food. Funnily I never really gain vacations weight here, cause there are so much veggies, salads, fruits, fish and seafood to have delicious meals with that you do not look for carbs – except some brad for dipping your aioli.
There are several possibilities to stay on the island, from Airbnb to villa rentals, there is something for everyone. This time we rented a villa at Can Furnet, calm and safe place with great view on Eivissa, the main town of the island. It is only a short distance and you can reach everything from here.
This time we have discovered some other places than my last visit with my friends – see all my recommendations for a weekend without kids here.
What we did this time (with kids) was:
-we had great dinner at Miro‘s italian restaurant at Can Furnet – absolutely delicious food and because it is right beside of a tennis course the kids could play tennis while we drank our rosé after dinner 🙂
-had a beach day at Nassau beach club – with childcare
-celebrated a dear friend’s birthday at Ibiza’s only golf club Roca Llisa– kids loved it, cause they could run free on the field and tried golf with a trainer
-an other friend’s birthday we had at Es Torrent, which is a beach restaurant with delicious food but no dogs allowed and no ball play for children
-visited Eivissa old town – you can see my impressions below
-and we went to other beaches you already know from my post before..
All and all the weather was not that kind to us this time, at the beginning of May it is warm but sometimes a bit rainy, but starting at the end of May you can count on a quite stable summer when you travel to Ibiza. It is mostly dry and warm all the way through summer till around end of August. My favourite time on the island is the end of May – beginning of June or end of September – beginning of October. See you there next time 😉 . x
ps. My Ibiza looks are coming soon, stay tuned
