Fashion blogging is a creative job and the best part of it to meet people having the same passion for style as you do. I met Nasti from The Classy Dressy a short time ago and we clicked from the very beginning. It came just natural to brainstorm of ways how we could do something together, as our desire for quality styling is similar while our style is… same, same but different. Anyway, we chose one piece of “basic” clothing, a leather pencil skirt and challenged ourselves to style it two different ways. I went for a classy look.
My classy look includes sleek heels and a long vest and accessorised modestly. Usually I am not showing too much skin but a very deep decoltage felt just right to this anyway pretty held back look. I had a business meeting in mind and this is my idea of a perfect business-wear.
What I Wear
For a smooth classy look you need investment pieces that never go out of style, like a pair of simple, black, strapped sandals or a timeless bag. I would suggest to spend rather a little more money on the right accessories cause if you take care of them, these pieces will stick around forever. Probably you will pass them to your children later, at least this is my plan 🙂 .. Needless to say that good quality simply lasts longer.
With clothes it is different. I try not to invest too much money into them, definitely not into tops or skirts, because the style is always changing and with wearing and washing the quality can’t stay the same forever. Although I have clothes in my closet which are like from my teenage time (it was yesterday, right? 🙂 ) but I do not really wear them anymore. I only like to get sentimental sometimes.
A classic bag, a pair of sleek heels and modest jewellery is my recipe for a classy look.
Nasti on the other hand went for something completely different for styling the same pencil skirt. The name of her blog (The Classy Dressy) reflects her style but with an unexpected edge of urban touch. When you check her profile you get an amazing insight of a classy mind. I like her way of styling this skirt a lot as well, I was modelling for her, so I can tell, I would wear that look any time too. Not for a business meeting tho 😉 .
