With the Christmas shopping fever coming to the end (if you still need some gift-inspiration check here or here) I feel a little more relaxed – but maybe this is the silence before the storm. Anyhow I want to use this calm moment to talk a bit about basics that make a wardrobe complete without breaking the bank. Like a classic camel coat.
You already know my theory about investment pieces, things which are timeless and most likely your children will wear them before you know. But while investment pieces can break the bank there are things that you do not have to spend much on, still look stylish and make a perfect base of your wardrobe. So I just start now spontaneously a new series here on SILKsofine with the mission to find all the basic pieces that make a wardrobe complete. The very first one that came in my mind is: the camel coat.

Cause if you like classic styling then you will definitely want to own a camel coat. Most likely you already do. I got myself last year a very nice one (see here – gosh I looked so different back then) but recently when I was browsing for Christmas presents I have found an other one I couldn’t resist. It is a different cut: it is short and classy double-breasted. Anyhow, you do not need more than one camel coat, but that one you will use a lot for sure. There are so many reasons to love it. It is a classic. It is always stylish. You can style it up and down. For business. For leisure. Over a dress or over jeans. The colour (camel) will never ever go out of style and goes beautifully with a lot of other colours. It just simply looks divine. Do I have to say more?
A camel coat is always a good idea and luckily there are great quality pieces for accessible prices. So when next time you will see a new style you will not feel so bad when you get that one too. At least this is what I keep telling myself now that I bought a new one 🙂 .
Any ideas what the next piece could be featured in our next Wardrobe basics post? xx
